  32.     DemoNews is a weekly publication dedicated to the demo scene.  It is
  33. produced at the Internet FTP site ftp.eng.ufl.edu (aka WASP or HORNET).  
  34. This newsletter focuses on all aspects of demos and demo-making  (including 
  35. music, art, and coding).

  188. I had a complete hard drive failure last Thursday.  This was a direct result
  189. of a nasty virus.  I have no tape backup, and I had been using my old 40
  190. MEG drive to store backups on.  Unfortunately, this hard drive was also hit
  191. by the virus.  As a result of this, I have lost all the songs I have ever
  192. written (save the 2 songs for the mc2final intro and the Escape intro).  I
  193. also lost my entire sample library, so it looks like I won't be writing any
  194. new songs for a while.

  196. I will hopefully get some data off of my 40 MEG drive after sending it away
  197. for data recovery.

  208. As a result of my hard drive crash (see GENERAL above), the 1st place rookie
  209. prize will have to be either changed or delayed.  I will contact the winner

  340.  * No Lamers Allowed / Paranoids
  341.    This demo was compressed 6 times(!) and one of the compressors caused crash
  342.    every time I run it. So file called "nolamers.zip" is now changed (I
  343.    uncompressed it and compressed only once ;), now it runs ok.

  346.       COMPACK 4.4 <------------------- this compression program caused crash
